MONDAYS:

HEBREW IN DEPTH: 8:00 PM
May 3-June 14 (no class on 5/17 in observance of Shavuot).

Hebrew is Depth is a course focused on the "root" nature of Hebrew. This course will focus on the intricacies and subtleties of the Hebrew language focusing on associative words and phrases. The seminar-style course's goal will be to refine a set of tools for intermediate to advanced/native Hebrew students and speakers to approach the Hebrew language. The exercises we will undertake will open a door to meanings and perhaps a deeper understanding of the texts of our tradition.

SISTERHOOD RUMMIKUB/CHAT, 4:00 PM

RUMMIKUB:

This is a long-standing group! We gather virtually the second Monday of every month at 4:00 PM for a chat, since COVID-19 has suspended our ability to play. If you'd like to join in, you can! You do not need to be a player, and if you would like to become a player eventually, we'll teach you.

Please contact Sonia Milrod, [email protected] for the ZOOM Meeting Link.

TUESDAYS:

Biblical Characters with George Barnard
7:30pm – 8:30pm

WEDNESDAYS:

HAZAK PROGRAM - TBA
Once a month.

TALMUD'S GREATEST HITS - 8:30 PM (May 5 - June 10)

What are the Talmud's "Greatest Hits"? What should the layman know about the Talmud and its contents?

In its standard printing, the Babylonian Talmud is 5,422 pages long. Contained within are laws and opinions about Jewish living, ritual conduct, and ethics, as well as guidance for understanding human existence, Jewish history, and the sacred textual tradition. Alongside these might appear dubious claims about angels and demons, medicine and anatomy, or the origins of certain customs and peoples. We can be certain that not everything we read in the Talmud is to be taken at face value, and equally certain that much wisdom and insight can be found in its pages.

Join Rabbi Ferro as we explore some of the most famous passages of the Talmud, learning along the way about the rabbis, their personalities, and the ways in which they understand their texts and their world.

CLICK HERE to join every Wednesday at 8:30 PM from May 5 - June 10.
