NHS Men's Club Presents

The 6th Annual

SHABBAT ON THE RANGE

July 24, 2009

About 100 members attended the NHS Men's Club's 6th Annual Shabbat on the Range on Friday evening. Kabbalat Shabbat services were held outdoors at 6:00 p.m., and musicians Claire Lee, keyboard, Ben Lee, Jeff Gushin, guitar and Men's Club Co-President, and Gayna Bassin, violin, provided some lively music for congregants to dance to.

After the Shabbat evening service, members came inside for a Western style dinner cooked by Men's Club volunteers that included roasted Bison brisket, cole slaw, corn, baked beans and strawberry soup. For dessert, Western decorated sugar cookies and watermelon slices were irresistible. After dinner, Claire Lee and Rabbi Barnard led a Shabbat song sing-a-long, which included a "Home on the Range" parody in Yiddish!
